Material Culture began as a way for me to explore different media and express myself in ways that my graphic design career didn’t allow for. I love the small irregularities and imperfection of hand-pinched ceramic pieces, and working in this way is meditative and forces me to slow down my body and mind. I work by hand, embracing the personality and loveliness of objects that result directly from the simple relationship between hands and clay.

Recently, I’ve been experimenting with surface decoration and ways to further push the playful possibilities of pottery!
